Privacy notice

This notice explains how we handle personal data when you use data-mapgrid.digital or sit a programme. Last updated 18 August 2026.

Data controller

The controller is Data Mapgrid, 89 Glenurquhart Road; Balcherry; IV19 8NP; United Kingdom. Email info@data-mapgrid.digital, telephone 079 1188 4732. For UK GDPR purposes, that studio address is the contact point. We have not appointed a separate data protection officer; privacy requests go to the same inbox and are handled by the studio principals.

What we collect and why

Enquiry forms collect your name, email, optional topic, and message so we can answer you and, if relevant, send an invoice. If you enrol, we also keep programme, attendance, critique files you submit, and payment records from our accountant. If you telephone us, we may keep a short note of the call. We do not buy marketing lists. Legal bases are typically contract (to provide a programme), legitimate interests (to answer a genuine enquiry and to keep a minimal alumni list), and legal obligation (tax records).

Please do not paste personal data about your customers into forms or homework unless it is necessary for a critique and you have a lawful basis to share it. We prefer dummy events.

Retention

Enquiry messages that do not become a contract are kept for 18 months, then deleted from live mailboxes, unless they form part of a complaint. Contracts, invoices, and attendance records are kept for six years after the tax year they relate to. Critique files are kept for 24 months after the cohort ends so we can continue a conversation; you may ask us to delete the files sooner unless we must keep them for a dispute. Cookie consent is stored in your browser; we do not keep a server-side copy of that choice.

Who we share with

We use an email host and an accounting practice in the United Kingdom. Live rooms may be run on a video tool whose processor terms we review before a cohort. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to establish a legal claim.

International transfers

Some video or email processors may store copies outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on UK adequacy regulations where they apply, or on standard contractual clauses plus a transfer assessment. If a programme cannot be taught without a tool that transfers data abroad, we will say so before you enrol so you can decline the seat.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent where consent was the basis (for example optional analytics cookies). These rights are not absolute; invoices are an example of records we may have to keep. To exercise them, email info@data-mapgrid.digital. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom.

Children

Programmes are aimed at working adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Cookies

Essential cookies (or local storage) remember your cookie choice. Optional analytics cookies run only if you accept. Detail sits on the cookies page.
