Eligibility
You may request a refund for a public programme seat if you cancel in writing before the first live session and we have received your fee. Observatory weeks may be cancelled under the same rule, counted from the first teaching day in the confirmation email. Survey Seat recordings follow a shorter cooling-off window described below because access is granted immediately.
Timeframe
Write to info@data-mapgrid.digital with the subject line “Refund” within 14 days of the invoice date, or at least 7 full days before the first live session — whichever is later for a live cohort. Requests after a live programme has started are considered only as partial refunds or as a deferral to a later intake, at our discretion.
Full or partial refund
A full refund of tuition is available if you cancel before the first live session (or before recordings are unlocked, for Survey Seat) and you have not downloaded worksheet packs beyond the introductory PDF. Once week two materials are issued, a maximum of 50% of tuition may be returned, less any card or transfer fees we cannot recover. After week four of an eight-week course, tuition is not returned; we may offer a single deferral instead.
Non-refundable items
Travel to Balcherry, hotels, vendor licences (Amplitude, Mixpanel, warehouse costs), and any third-party exam fees are not refundable by us because we never collected them. Custom printing or room hire booked at your request for an Observatory week is non-refundable once ordered. VAT already remitted on an invoice that we then credit is handled through the credit note, not a second cash payment.
Process
Email info@data-mapgrid.digital from the address on the invoice. Include the invoice number, programme name, and whether you want money returned or a seat moved. We confirm receipt within two working days and say whether the request falls under full, partial, deferral, or refusal under these rules.
Processing time and method
Approved refunds are paid within 14 working days of our confirmation, by the same method as the original payment where possible (bank transfer is typical). We do not refund in cash or in store credit. Currency conversion differences on international transfers are yours.
Cancellation by us
If we cancel a cohort, you receive a full refund of tuition or a seat on the next equivalent programme, at your choice. We are not responsible for travel you booked before we confirmed the intake was running.
Exceptions
Statutory rights under United Kingdom consumer law remain. If you bought as a consumer and the service is not as described, contact us before escalating. We may refuse a refund where materials were shared in breach of the terms, or where a seat was obtained with inaccurate information. Illness can support a deferral; it does not automatically create a cash refund after week four.
